of California, Hayes & Associates was founded
in 1974 in San Jose, California. Initially focusing
on accounting, tax planning and preparation,
founder Charles Hayes soon discovered many clients
also sought investment advice. Having spent
many hours each year researching his personal
investments, extending his expertise to clients'
accounts was a natural progression.
Several business trips brought Charles to San
Diego over the years, leading him to fall in
love with the city and move south in 1984. Shortly
thereafter, he relocated his investment and
accounting practice - and home - to the beautiful
island of Coronado.
Today, our clients hail from Coronado, San
Diego, across the United States and internationally.

The Team
Charles
W. Hayes CPA/PFS has been in public
accounting since 1969, and specializes
in investment management and income taxes.
While a full time CPA he has also owned
and operated a restaurant, had real estate
holdings, and invested in startup companies
and the stock market. Active in the community,
he has served in various official capacities
in the Coronado Cays Yacht Club, Rotary
Club of Coronado, Chamber of Commerce,
and Coronado Hospital Foundation. His
interests include boating, music, and
collecting antiquarian books. Firm

John
Hart MS, CPA joined Hayes & Associates in 1996 and
is our Tax Manager. He received his Bachelors degree
in accounting in 1991 and Masters degree in tax and
financial planning in 2000, both from San Diego State
University. John enjoys working with clients to help
them save income and estate taxes. His other interests
include camping, skiing, and cars. Active in the community,
John currently serves as Treasurer for the Friends of
the Coronado Public Library.
Christina
Chrivia joined the firm in 1996 and is a Tax Specialist.
She also oversees all service support tasks around the
office, and doubles as our in-house computer and multimedia
wizard. Christina's interests include working with computers,
creating decorative gourds, and playing the occasional
round of golf.
Beth Gomrick joined the firm in 2009 as an Administrative Assistant. She enjoys the opportunity to work closely with clients as the "Director of First Impressions" as well as lending support to the Hayes Team members. As a longtime Coronado resident and Navy Spouse, Beth has served in various official capacities for military, civic and school organizations. She also enjoys taking care of family, travel, cooking, reading, music and theater.
Linda
W. Hayes has been with the firm since 2001, working
in an administrative capacity and is back-up for the
Hayes Team members. She has been in Coronado since 1991
and enjoys helping and accompanying Charles in the many
community events that they sponsor or participate in.
Linda's interests lie mainly in spending time with family
and friends, travel, enjoying the outdoors, theater,
reading, and music.
